Author has written 1 story for Romance.

So, since I've decided to start posting things on here, I guess I'd better tell you a little something aout myself ;)

So, who is NeonGreenGummieBears?

I'm a female college student, born on one side of the US but raised on the other. I'm an aspiring author, recently recovering from a 3 year long bout of the most horrific writer's block you can imagine. If my writing seems a little rusty at times, I'd like to think that's why. I am an avid animal lover, suffer from a critical case of procrastination, and am the owner of a brand new, pretty, green laptop :D

I used to write fanfiction, but now mostly stick to original works where I can practice world-building and character development without a predesigned template. I write love stories: Contemporary, historical, fantasy sci/fy. Sometimes they're slashy, sometimes they're not. I write the kinds of things I'd like to read, and I read it all. However, there are some things I like more than others...

NeonGreenGummieBear's Likes:

- slow building relationships.

- unexpected lovers, where their one true love ends up being the last person you would expect. Usually someone who was there all along.

-enemies become lovers. I don't know why, but I just love it when they start out hating eachother.

-adopted family. I love it when the characters build their own families out of the people around them that they aren't related to, but who loves them anyways. I have a special weakness for father-figures (In a non-sexual way)

- romance as a side plot, rather than the entire point of the story.

- hurt/comfort

- hair washing

- snark (see also: snarky sarcastic boys who are secretly more vulnerable than they appear)

NeonGreenGummieBear's Dislikes:

- rushed, unrealistic emotional connection/ lack of plot

- codependency

- the world's fascination with BDSM. It's everywhere. Why? I didn't used to mind it but now I'm hard pressed to find a good story without having that thrown in to make things seem "hotter" and "extra kinky" and I don't like it. The people writing it rarely know anything about the topic other than "Love interest causes him/her pain and the more it hurts it makes them hotter." *enter demeaning derogatory dirty talk here* They don't usually follow the conventions of the BDSM community and it usually comes off seeming like consensual abuse. I don't know if people are using whips and handcuffs to try and write steamier sex scenes to draw in an audience, and I will be the first to admit that I'm a newbie at writing sex myself, but some of the best sex scenes I've ever read didn't need to include pain or masochism or "a need to be dominated." It was just two people on equal, realistic footing having fun together. I'm not going to say that BDSM is all bad or has no place in fiction, that's not true, but I just don't understand why it has to be EVERYWHERE. 50 Shades of Gray is not a role model! (Okay sorry...rant over)

- unrealistic dialogue

- pushover characters who always forgive the other person everything, can't stay mad AT ALL and apologize when it's the other person's fault just because the "love them so much and don't want to fight." Do people like that exist in real life? Yeah, I'm sure they do, but they annnoy me there too.

- mental instability. The person obviously isn't in any condition to be in a relationship, but sex happens anyways.

- Huge age gaps. I think the biggest age gap I ever read had a 60-something year old with this 18 year old kid and it just killed me, because the writing and the story idea were SO GOOD that I had to finish but the entire time the age difference was weirding me out. I think the biggest age difference I ever comfortably read was in Juicy Fruit by BlueGhost_Ghost and that was kind of pushing it. I do, however, find that I am more forgiving of larger age gaps, the older the youngest member of the relationship is. For example, in the manga Loveless there is an 8 year age gap between Ritsuka and Soubi. Normally that wouldn't bother me...except that Ritsuka is 12. That's creepy. However when Ritsuka is 20 and Soubi is 28 it wouldn't be a big deal.

- Mpreg. I don't even really have a good reason for hating it, it just squicks me the hell out.

- Excessive stereotyping

Other Facts:

1. I am usually working on a million projects at once. Usually it's just a million different stories that I'm writing, but at the moment my other projects include a Visual Novel game and a screenplay that probably won't ever get turned into anything but might potentially become a webisode if I can find people who know what they're doing to help me. Anyway, if writer's block isn't behind my delayed updating, it's probably one of these.

2. Less Than Charming has a tumblr page! I'm not sure how many of you are interested (or how many of you there even ARE) but regardless, a page has been built and if you look there you can find fun things like status updates and pictures, and ask me questions. You should check it out :)

Ivan has no love for adventure, nor does he have any sort of desire to see and/or experience the world around him. In point of fact, overly long trips of any sort kind of make him want to die, so there is obviously no reason for him to force his best friend on a journey across America with him. Obviously.
