Author has written 16 stories for Love, Haiku, and General.

Here's a little bit about myself:

Name: Briana

Nickname: Bri or B

Age: 19

Location: USA

Occupation: College student and a cashier :/

I've been writing ever since I can remember. So, I guess you could say that I'm kind of passionate about writing. I write all kinds of stuff: poetry, short stories, you name it. My writing tends to focus on love. I'm a hopeless romantic, a cynical believer that somehow it will all work out. I have a sarcastic wit and it usually shows in my writing. I write many things that can be classified as angsty or dramatic. Sometimes, I write things that pertain to my life or current events in my surroundings. I like taking a bittersweet approach in my work. Not everything is lollipops and rainbows. Let's face it, that's not how life works. When I read, I want to feel strong emotions and have some kind of connection. Anything less than that and I'll end up feeling cheated. Some people prefer not to get too emotionally attached. To each their own, I guess. But, I want my readers to derive something out of my writing. I want them to learn a lesson, to think, to feel. If you don't like it like that, tough luck.

Anyways, I digress.

If you like romance, angst, and drama you have probably come to the right place.

Feel free to go through my published pieces and those I have added to my favorites. Any form of feedback is greatly appreciated as there is always room for improvement. I'm not a perfect writer and I love getting criticism, as long as it is creative. :)

Favorite Quotes/Inspiration:

"One person's craziness is another person's reality." - Tim Burton

“Visions are worth fighting for. Why spend your life making someone else's dreams?” - Tim Burton

"But she knows she has a curse on her, a curse she cannot win. For if someone gets too close to her, the pins stick further in." - Tim Burton, The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy & Other Stories

“When you don’t have many friends and you don’t have a social life you’re kind of left looking at things, not doing things. There’s a weird freedom in not having people treat you like you’re part of society or where you have to fulfill social relationships.” - Tim Burton

"And what if there is nothing else? What if all life ends in the silent void of death? Then is it all in vain? I think not. For love, for the sake of love, will always be enough. And if our lives are but a single flash in the dark hollow of eternity, then, if, but for the briefest of moments, we shine–then how brilliantly our light has burned. And as the starlight knows no boundary of space or time, so, too, our illumination will shine forth throughout all eternity, for darkness has no power to quell such light. And this is a lesson we must all learn and take to heart–that all light is eternal and all love is light. And it must forever be so."

- Richard Paul Evans, The Letter

“I love you, not for the things you have, or even what you might have or might become someday–but because of who you are right now and how you make me feel. I love the goodness of your heart. I have friends who have married rich boys with poor hearts and I pity them, in their new cars and big new homes for all their poverty.”

- Richard Paul Evans, The Locket

"It is often during the worst of times that we see the best of humanity–awakening within the most ordinary of us that which is most sublime. I do not believe that it is circumstance that produces such greatness any more than it is the canvas that makes the artist. Adversity merely presents the surface on which we render our souls’ most exacting likeness. It is in the darkest skies that stars are best seen."

- Richard Paul Evans, The Letter

"I have come to believe that we do not walk alone in this life. There are others, fellow sojourners, whose journeys are interwoven with ours in seemingly random patterns, yet, in the end, have been carefully placed to reveal a remarkable tapestry. I believe God is the weaver at that loom."

- Richard Paul Evans, The Carousel

"It is possible to learn more about compassion in one quiet act of selflessness than in a hundred fiery sermons."

- Richard Paul Evans, The Carousel

"Those with the softest hearts build the hardest shells." - Richard Paul Evans, The Locket

"Forgiveness does not require us to close our eyes but rather to truly open them." - Richard Paul Evans, The Gift

"In the face of the lies told by depression, we must have courage to survive. And courage is best fed by hope. The sun will rise again. The only uncertainty is whether or not we will be there to greet it." - Richard Paul Evans, The Carousel

"There would be less suffering in this world if humanity would learn this one truth: It is not what we receive but what we give that heals us." - Richard Paul Evans, The Carousel

"We spend our lives building higher fences and stronger locks, when the gravest dangers are already inside." - Richard Paul Evans, The Sunflower

"There are times, it seems, that God throws a cosmic switch that moves the tracks beneath us, hurling our lives headlong in a new and uncertain direction. Of these times just two things are certain: It’s best we don’t know what’s ahead. We can never go back." - Richard Paul Evans, The Sunflower

"We carry around in our heads these pictures of what our lives are supposed to look like, painted by the brush of our intentions. It’s the great, deep secret of humanity that in the end none of our lives look the way we thought they would. As much as we wish to believe otherwise, most of life is a reaction to circumstances." - Richard Paul Evans, The Sunflower

"Feelings can be like wild animals— we underrate how fierce they are until we've opened their cages." - Richard Paul Evans, The Sunflower

"There have been too many departures in my life. I have yet to find the good in goodbye or the well in farewell." - Richard Paul Evans, The Locket

“There is nothing I would not do for those who are really my friends. I have no notion of loving people by halves, it is not my nature.” - Jane Austen, Northanger Abbey

"Wisely and slow; they stumble that run fast." - Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet

"Our doubts are traitors, and make us lose the good we oft might win, by fearing to attempt." - Shakespeare, Measure for Measure

"The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and to be loved in return." - Christian, Moulin Rouge
