The human population continues to increase. SO does our greed, power lust, and animal cruelty. The things our race does to other creatures is SICK! And the worst part is that most civilians don't even know about it. Well, you are about to find out.
Dolphins: In Japan a horrible event takes place. Dolphin slaughter. Fishermen go out on boats, place long poles with megaphones on the bottom into the water, and beat on them with hammers. This creates a wall of sound, that throws off dolphin echolocation. They then drives hundreds of terrified dolphins to the shore. The fishermen then net off the area. The next morning dolphin trainers come and select the dolphins they want (japan makes thousands of dollars by selling just a single show dolphin). The rest are released right? Wrong. The remaining dolphins are herded into a back cove and slaughtered. The meat is then sold mislabeled. You can sit at a dolphin show and eat dolphin meat without knowing that's what it is. For more information watch the documentary The Cove (Warning, the documentary contains some disturbing scenes. not recommended for young children.)
Sharks: One of China's delicacies is shark fin soup. As a vegetarian that sounds pretty gross to me, but what's even more disgusting is how they obtain the fins. The Chinese go out too sea, catch sharks, cut off there fins, and then throw them into the ocean to bleed to death. These sharks suffer a long and painful death so people can eat soup. And it must stop.
Seals: The seal hunt is still legal in Canada. People still go up into the Arctic and club baby seals over the head, killing them for their there fur. Two years ago Canada made it's largest seal pelt sale in almost a decade. The government was celebrating that.
(please note that i mean no offense to any people from or living in the countries mentioned above. i myself live in Canada. I am naturist and i am only trying to raise awareness.)
