I enjoy writing poetry as it allows me to express my deepest thoughts and feelings in a way I can share and then be known. Much of my writing stems from loss, hurt and pain. I am learning to write happier and more hopeful poetry now though with a new project I am working on. I plan to release a book next year around Christmas time all about hopeful/happy poetry. I think it will push me to focus on happier things and not express myself so much in pain and hurt.

In my off time, meaning when I am not writing poetry, I work in the IT industry for a local company in the town in which I live. I have a large family that is pretty close. We have all been shaped by loss and pain in some ways. While none of my family members expresses themselves like I do, they all appreciate the art.

Thoughts:

I thought it would be interesting to create a YouTube channel just for poetry. I've added the one video to it. Its just me reading poetry to a camera. :) Not sure if it will go anywhere. I read one poem, discuss it maybe a little and then goodbye. Simple sharing of poetry. If I get enough requests I will relist them, I don't feel particularly proud of the old work I did as it was amateur.
