"You must stay drunk on writing so reality cannot destroy you."
Hello fellow writers. I'd like to introduce myself as Domus Vocis. The name is Latin for 'home's voice'. I named myself this because our planet earth is a place that needs many voices for people to hear. I became a writer a while back, all the way back in middle school. I began with poetry and got to writing short stories. As I wrote more, I got better and better over the years. And during those years, I came up with three rules for becoming a more skilled writer. They are:
1) Your ideas are your own.
2) Never let an idea slip away when it comes.
3) Don't base your creations off of society's rules.
I have a lot ofout there, some vastly underrated. As hard as it was, here are my top 10 favorite young adult book (series). Anyway, here they are:
10. The Roar and The Whisper by Emma Clayton
9. The Leviathan trilogy by Scott Westerfield
8. I Hunt Killers by Barry Lyga
7. To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee
6. The Giver by Lois Lowry
5. The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins
4. Waterways by Kyell Gold AND everyday by David Levithan
3. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
2. The Legend trilogy by Marie Lu
1. The Dangerous Spirits series by Kyell Gold
Speaking of furries, I also have a Furaffinity page if you'd like to see: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/domusvocis/#
Some of my favorite TV shows include Monk, Continuum, Burn Notice, Avatar:The Last Airbender, Legend of Korra, Family Guy, South Park, Sleepy Hollow, The Walking Dead, and What Would You Do?
I am becoming a fan of anime, so my favorites are Black Butler, Black Lagoon, Kiki's Delivery Service, Attack on Titan, Ookami-san and her Seven Companions, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Romeo X Juliet, Soul Eater, and Wolf Children: Ame and Yuki. As for video games, I like Bioshock Infinite, Solatorobo: Red the Hunter, Remember Me, the Assassin's Creed series, and Alan Wake.
I mostly write science fiction, but on a few occasions write something else of a different genre. Almost all of them have a form of symbolism to them, so read it carefully. Some of the stories I write don't take place in the same universe, and only a few do. The reason for this is because my OC's are very different from one another.
Speaking of which, the last thing I will say is that all my stories and OC's belong to me alone. If you wish to borrow any o them, feelask, but still, be creative with your OC's. Trust me; a true writer and artist creates his/her own ideas from scratch. If you'd like to get in contact with me, feel free to send me a PM :)
