I'm a forty-two year old former army wife who now care-takes for her husband, who was injured overseas. I discovered a love for writing when I first opened an account at Fanfiction dot net writing for the Inuyasha fandom, where I have one hundred and thirty-nine published stories. They range in size and complexity from short and sweet one-shots to full length fictions and even one that I am currently working on that is the fanfic equivalent of a historical epic, with one thousand, one hundred and fifty-nine pages if it were in paperback format already, and still with just under a third of the story left to write.
I had not before considered writing original fiction until my fans over on the fanfic side started mentioning that they wished that I would write a full length fiction of my own. After much thought I decided that it might be worth a try. Because of that I am currently working on my first novel, a fantasy/romance/drama/angst that is tentatively titled Once and Forever. It is a two-part story with the first part titled The Breaking, and the second titled Resurrecting Dawn. (And no, there are no sparkling vampires in it. I have no interest in stories of vampires and werewolves. I'm much more interested in Japanese lore about youkai because it's different.)
Besides that one, I also have the basic plots for two other novels, one that is a suspense/romance titled October Road, and the second a horror/supernatural called Blood of Innocents. Maybe if I'm lucky something will get published someday.
As for the rest of me, I'm what's known in the fanfic community as a Grammar Nazi. I am a perfectionist and very critical of my own writings. With others I tend to be more encouraging, and when I do critique something I do it in a nice, respectful manner, and I expect to be treated the same way. Flamers meet no courtesy from me, and what I wrote in my profile on FF dot net still stands: If a person does not have the respect to critique my work while signed in, then I won't be respectful enough to leave the review up for others to see.
Beyond that, I am well aware that one cannot please everyone all the time. If a person can't get into my work I'm not going to die. We all have our own opinions and likes and dislikes, after all. That said, I hope that some do enjoy my work.
