My name's Ellen - it means "shining light". I'm a poet and sometimes-photographer.. I like to sing and play my guitar, I'm a bit of a hippie. I love the simple things in life, a good laugh and good friends. I'm honest, intimate, sensitive and loving. I love to have fun, party, dance when nobody's watching me.. I love my mates, family, music, pubs, being a stir, drinking too much, getting tangled up in the moment, beer, fireworks, hippies, anything different, charity, being unique, fair trade, that “buzz”, camping, flying, travelling, culture, crazy nights, stress-free days, the little things that mean a lot, water fights, roulette, pool, darts, experimenting, deep and meaningfuls, philosophicals, nature, meeting new people, Australia, love, peace, equality, human rights, justice... etc...

But if you really want to get to know me we could just do the whole conversational thing engulfing our personalities..

Untitled Love Poem reviews
Just something little I penned the other night... Love is an amazing drug, the insane rush you get off being in love is indescribable.

Little Soldier reviews
I'm not a fan of the military or war or any of that nonsense. Regardless of how much the Government tries to convince me it's necessary. I guess I'm just a plain old hippie deep down to my core.
Poetry: War - Rated: K - English - Poetry - Chapters: 1 - Words: 194 - Reviews: 1 - Published: 3/26 - Complete
Dabble is a poem I wrote about a girl who got into the drug scene. She allowed it to envelope her entire being and take a hold of her. Losing control and her sense of self-worth, she eventually overdoses, forgetting the ones she once held close to her heart. I was inspired to write this one after a good friend got heavily involved in the drug scene and I was worried for her..

We Are The Future
Pretty sure I wrote this during the 2005 Make Poverty History campaigns that I used to be involved in. Inspired by Live Aid / Live8 etc and wanting to eradicate all the terrible things happening around the world.
Poetry: Politics - Rated: T - English - Chapters: 1 - Words: 139 - Published: 2/18
Biting The Bark
This one I wrote ages ago, would have to be about 2006/2007. Not up there with my best work, but something I've written nonetheless.
Poetry: Life - Rated: K+ - English - Chapters: 1 - Words: 114 - Published: 2/18 - Complete
Walk That Thumb reviews
This is a short poem I wrote one day after sitting around having a lazy day playing guitar. Thought it had a kind of decent rhythm when spoken, so would probably make for an okay short song as well.
Poetry: Song - Rated: K - English - Poetry - Chapters: 1 - Words: 94 - Reviews: 1 - Published: 2/18 - Complete
Fade reviews
Another oldie... I think everyone knows these feelings. When you wish you could disappear entirely.

My Ode To Rock & Roll
This one's and oldie of mine... It's simply about listening to some music over a few drinks at the pub and the drunken fascination. Not my best piece and it's also very open structurally - but for some reason I still quite like this one.
