Author has written 11 stories for Sci-Fi, Horror, Nature, Love, General, General, Spiritual, and Supernatural.
Hi, my name's Holly and I'm 16.
Writing is a favorite pastime of mine, as well as reading and general fangirling.
I hope to one day have a book or two out there in the big wide world, and I'm thrilled a site like this exits to enhance and share my scribbles and others' writing! As well as wanting to be an author, veterinary science is also an interest and forensics...etc
I really hope you enjoy my scribblings, and please give me a review if you can: I'd love to know how to improve something or (if it's possible) that my writing has put a smile on your face (isn't that a thought?!)
I will try my hardest to respond to anything I am sent and also to update regularly.
Once again, thank you!
“I love deadlines. I love the whooshing noise they make as they go by.”
“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”
“There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed.”
“The difference between the right word and the almost right word is the difference between lightning and a lightning bug.”
“We live and breathe words. ... It was books that made me feel that perhaps I was not completely alone. They could be honest with me, and I with them. Reading your words, what you wrote, how you were lonely sometimes and afraid, but always brave; the way you saw the world, its colors and textures and sounds, I felt--I felt the way you thought, hoped, felt, dreamt. I felt I was dreaming and thinking and feeling with you. I dreamed what you dreamed, wanted what you wanted--and then I realized that truly I just wanted you.”
“I can shake off everything as I write; my sorrows disappear, my courage is reborn.”
“If you want to be a writer, you must do two things above all others: read a lot and write a lot.”
“Being a writer is a very peculiar sort of a job: it's always you versus a blank sheet of paper (or a blank screen) and quite often the blank piece of paper wins.”
“You must write every single day of your life... You must lurk in libraries and climb the stacks like ladders to sniff books like perfumes and wear books like hats upon your crazy heads... may you be in love every day for the next 20,000 days. And out of that love, remake a world.”
“Write the kind of story you would like to read. People will give you all sorts of advice about writing, but if you are not writing something you like, no one else will like it either.”
“You can't wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club.”
