I am a fantasy, science fiction, and paranormal fiction writer living in Dallas, Texas. I like writing stories that poke at social themes, and most everything I write is allegorical. I enjoy creating layered characters with multiple goals or conflicting motivations, and then allowing them to drive the work. I participate in National Novel Writing Month when I feel like it, and I won in 2010 and 2013. I am currently in the process of sending the 2013 novel out to agents.

For any of my stories rated Mature, they will contain sexual themes, but the sexual themes are usually not the focus of the plot. Explicit scenes will move the plot forward rather than being present for the sake of being explicit. I honestly prefer to fade to black the majority of the time.

Literary influences include Tamora Pierce, Mercedes Lackey, Naomi Novik, C.S. Lewis, Robert Heinlein, Isaac Asimov and Neil Gaiman.

Story Progress

Unbowed: Complete. Currently in editing. I am creating supplemental materials for the ebook edition, which will include: Maps, glossary of noble houses and characters, glossary of kotka body language, character sketches, pre- and post-novel short stories, and other appendix materials such as world-building notes.

Artemis: NaNo 2010 winner, but being re-written and further fleshed out. Have the first and last third (I think) written, now need to write the middle.

Spellsong: Writing very slowly. This is my epic - the trilogy (of terror, my god, it's been ten years in progress). I may need flow charts to keep track of the cast.
